Fire slowly leeching up the sides of our independence, a symbol of freedom desecrated, pure anarchy ensues.

We are given rights as an american and one of them Freedom of speech, how far is our freedom of speech allowed to go before it treads into hate speech and violence?

According to Webster’s Dictionary hate speech is defined as “abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group”

Also according to the first amendment flag burning is categorized as symbolic speech.

In the end It is symbolic speech in complete defiance against freedom and independence, and is disrespectful to the people that lost their lives protecting this country and the people in it.

Look at this example: if a person from a different country burned an American Flag as a public demonstration, it would be considered a threat to the the nation.

However, if someone inside our country did the same acts of violence we brush it off because it is their right.
