According to a few highland students they think that pets do and do not help with people’s mental health.

Sources say that pets such as dogs, cats, (Etc.) help people with there mental health such as depression, anxiety, (Etc.) I have 2 dogs and 1 cat, they can be difficult, and they can make me mad, but overall they tend to cheer me up in my lowest points.

According to Hunter Merzlock, sophomore, “I have 2 dogs and they are just annoying, all they do is bark, and cause problems therefore I do say they affect mental health but not in a good way.”

“I have 2 dogs and 1 cat, my cat is annoying, my dogs bark a lot, but I love them to death, They can cheer me up almost instantly and they make me pretty happy, They do make me mad sometimes but what kind of animal doesn’t make someone mad?” freshman Addison Summers said.

“I have 1 cat and 1 dog, My dog is currently in a obedience class so I haven’t see him in a while, But i’m definitely a cat person, I like cats a lot more because he doesn’t require so much attention he’s quite and he just make me happy,” Kiefer Huft, sophomore, said.
