LGBTQ Rights Threatened
LGBTQ Rights Might be Taken Away
October 29, 2020
Around the world, people are under attack for who they love, how they dress, and ultimately for who they are.
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people already experience greater barriers to accessing health care than non-LGBTQ people, but now Donald John Trump and Amy Coney Barrett are threatening to make it harder in health care for LGBTQ.
The Trump-Pence administration has repeatedly and is continually trying to take away LGBTQ people’s rights. They have been trying to strip transgender people of their recognized identities and civil rights protections, putting barriers in the way of LGBTQ people’s access to health care, making same sex marriage hard, making Trans not being able to serve in the military, and nominating judges and officials with strong anti-LGBTQ records.
This is leaving LGBTQ scared for their rights and scared for their futures. There are a count of young LGBTQ members 10+ and maybe younger scared and terrified.
Trump has said many times “I love all LGBTQ” and more yet he is very much homophobic and has done terrible things for LGBTQ citizans and now taken rights away. His own daughter has said “I have a gay best friend” but she can’t even say LGBTQ correctly by leaving out trans which is the most targeted by Trump administration as she said “LGBQAI,” a and i meaning asexual and intersex.
LGBTQ citizans are under attack and are having to fight for their rights as they had to years and years ago just because a homophobic man is president. Most LGBTQ are not happy about this.

I am a freshman at highland high school. I love to hang out with friends and family. I play volleyball but not for the high school team. I love peace/arizona...
why is it that we have to get our rights taken away. we are no less of humans then everyone else. so what if we love the same sex or not its not anyone’s concern but the person that feels that way. there will be protest against this if this happens and I will rightfully go even if it puts me in danger because I will fight for what’s right
I actually really agree with this. The fact that Trump wants to take away all of these things just because someone is part of the LGBTQ+ community, or is gay, trans, or whatever it may be is really messed up of him and his “community” to do. Everyone should be treated equally and the fact that he says he’s “Not homophobic” is funny and just puts a cherry on top of everything…
