I look up and see a very wise amazing man, Tom Brands, screaming at me to get up. I swear I think I would’ve lost that match if he didn’t scream at me, I just couldn’t let Tom Brands see me lose that match. I rolled through with a grab and with all the power I had left, I won the match! After I ended up having a really good chat with one of the Iowa wrestlers and the man himself it was an exhilarating feeling, and was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.

If you want to go to one of the best wrestling camps in the country, maybe the world, with some of the toughest guys on this planet then go to Iowa. They’ve trained National Champions, World Champions and Olympic champions. Their training methods have proven to work and their camp is very educational towards wrestling and is tons of fun! They start off by introducing you to the coaches, with 100+ kids standing around you. Tom Brands, the legend himself, gives you a speech that is truly inspiring. The whole experience first walking into the Iowa stadium and meeting a lot of legendary coaches and members of the team is really an extraordinary experience. You can have a regular talk with the Brands brothers, Spencer Lee, Alex Marinelli, Pat Lugo, Austin Desanto, etc. They have the decency to feed you some of the best food you will ever eat with their first class service being served in the cafeteria, it’s the icing on the cake. They serve you breakfast and lunch and both meals fill you up and keep you going throughout the camp. It may be a little costly, but it’s definitely worth the purchase if you are willing. If you’ve never been to Iowa the forests and lakes around that area are seriously magical. Their thick forests and humid air makes it seem like you’re in the jungle. You’re not home you’re somewhere else where you’ve never been. Even the people have a different vibe. Almost every car you will see is a supporter of Iowa wrestling so you might wanna buy some fan gear while you’re there or before you get there!

You can stay in their dorms, but in my opinion it’s a lot more fun to camp out in the woods of Iowa. You can explore and find frogs, snakes and it’s a lot of fun. Make sure you bring bug spray though or mosquitoes will have a hay day on your body. They provide great camping grounds with beautiful scenery and it’s right outside of town! The whole experience seems almost unreal once you’re there, you’ll learn so much! This is definitely a trip I’d take again. I rate this experience five out of five. It was the most fun I’ve ever had!
