“How To” is going to be a weekly column on how to do everything from cooking to setting up electronics and everything in between. We will be asking random people in the hallway what they want to see in the column. This will be driven by common problems people have as well as things people might not think about, but stuff you may want to know.

This week is “How To Cook Lemon Jello Cake”. First you will need the following items:

4 eggs

3/4 cup of water

1/2 cup salad oil

1/2 cup lemon juice

2 cups of powdered sugar

1 package of yellow cake mix

3 ounce package of lemon jello

1 large bowl

1 small bowl

9 by 13 inch pan (un-greased and preferably a dark color)

You start by putting the cake mix in your bowl then add your water, jello, salad oil and eggs. You will beat the ingredients together until the mixture looks smooth and creamy. Pour your batter into the pan and spread it out evenly, bake it uncovered for 2 1/2 hours at 375 degrees. Once done, take out the cake and stab it with fork every inch or so. For the finishing touches, mix lemon juice and powdered sugar in another bowl. Pour the topping onto your backed cake and you are left with a Lemon Jello Cake to enjoy.
