Highland gets a new mailbox

Savannah Hirsch, Managing Editor

Recently Tanner Witt, and 8th-grade student, from Alameda Middle School built a new mailbox for Highland. Tanner, who will be attending Highland next year, needed something to do for an Eagle Scout project, so he decided to help the school welding a brand new 300lb mailbox topped by a life-size metal ram head. He has been working on the project since summer with the help of his uncle, who is a welder. Principal Brad Wallace said that we offer a lot of projects to students, “the stairs that go down to the weight room were repainted by students” and he continued to talk about the train car out by the parking lot was also repainted by students who needed projects to do.
