Cross country marks a sad end placing just out of state qualifications. Yesterday, October 18th, Highland competed against Thunder Ridge, Madison and Rigby in Idaho Falls at Freeman Park. Highland placed 3rd in both boys and girls races. Rigby and Madison both qualified for state. although the entire team did not qualify. Elana Sanford, Lauren Benson, and Jared Harden individually qualified for state, from our Highland track team. Coach Hopster says “The injury bug has bit us.” in discussing why we did not win the district race. They ran until they hit a breaking point, which happened to be right before districts. Good luck and best wishes to those competing at the state competition and to a new season.
