The cheer team has many fun times but they are extremely hard working and work very hard for all of their wins. On february 11, Highland cheer left to boise. On february 12, they competed and brought home the gold.

“I was very proud of them because I’ve spent more time with those girls than my family and I’ve seen all the hard work put in to earn that state title,” said Brooklyn Garrison.

Most of the cheer team has been very hard workers not only all year but since they were very young which has helped them temendecly this year and for many years to come.

“ This year was my fourth year cheering, I did competitive cheer for two years.” Ariana Carrillo said.

The cheer team isn’t just all hard work but they are able to spend time with friends and even make new friends.

“The relationships I make with the girls, they are all my best friends and I love going to competitions,” said Riley Harvala referring to her favorite part of being a part of the team.

The cheer team doesnt let the word “team” go misplaced. They are very hard working and make it known that they work together. They do a cheer together to help them get hyped up and ready to perform. Once they won the competition they were very excited and did the cheer again.

“After we won we just jumped up and were so excited, we do this cheer before we perform and it goes ‘you got to want it to win it and we want it bad’, but then we also did after and it was such a great feeling” Carrillo said.

The cheer team was very happy when they found out that they won state and all of their hard work really paid off.

“I felt very happy when we won. It was the best feeling ever knowing all of our hard work and dedication paid off.” said Eva Schrade
