This Friday, November 19th, the football team will battle Rigby for the state title. Having won the last two playoff games within two points the team has seen its fair share of close calls.

Team kicker, Ian Hershey, helped push our way to state. Last week against Eagle, Hershey booted one in from 40 yards out with 4 seconds on the clock to win it. Before Hershey kicked the ball Eagle called a time out. Taking advantage he practiced his form a couple times, the last of which left him on his butt. Eagles student section erupted with laughter which led Hershey to egg them on by waving his arms telling them to get louder. Hershey then made the kick sending him and his fellow teammates to the state championships.

Since head coach, Gino Mariani, took over Highland has made it to state 11 times. Winning 4 of those times the boys are looking for another title this weekend.

The game will be at Holt arena this Friday at 8:15, so make sure you are there to support our boys and our school!
