“Ender’s Game” is a science fiction book by Orson Scott Card. I think this book deserves all five stars out of five, because it had an excellent story but still stuck with me.

“Ender’s Game” is a relatively well-known book, first published in 1985. Since then, it’s influenced the way many people think about war and our misunderstandings with other cultures. “Ender’s Game” follows the life of Ender, a war prodigy, who is thought of as the hope of the world. After being attacked by aliens many years before and barely winning, the people of Earth had been preparing for years to fight off the aliens again at their return, which seemed inevitable. Ender must go through grueling training, learning how to create new strategies and be an effective leader, facing enemies along the way. He seems to be very successful, but by the time he learns something that could change the course of the world, it’s too late.

This book would be a good choice for anyone who likes to read science fiction, but for others as well. I’m not necessarily a science fiction fan, but I loved “Ender’s Game” because it was about more than lasers and aliens.

Obviously, one of my biggest expectations for a story is an interesting plot. The plot of this book was solid. Although it’s not exactly the type I’d usually want to read, the characters, writing style, and themes kept me reading it until the end.

I expect books to have likable but realistic characters, and Ender satisfied this expectation well. Although most of the characters were child geniuses, they were all still very human and easy to relate to, and kept the story engaging.

I look for books that have some kind of impact on me, and change the way I think about things. “Ender’s Game” is on my favorite books list because of this. Although the whole book made me think differently about conflict and the place of children in our world, the ending was what really blew me away. Without revealing too much, I can say I will never think about war the same way again.

“Ender’s Game” can be purchased at bookstores or on Amazon.

I think this book is definitely worth the time it takes to read, even if the beginning is a little slow. It had a real impact on me, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
