Among Us came out in 2018, but later became popular in 2020 once Covid-19 came, due to quarantine.

This game can have as little as 4 players and as many as 10 with 4 different maps to choose from. There are 1-3 imposters that are trying to kill all of the crew mates on the ship before they finish all their tasks.

Once a dead body is found or an emergency meeting is called, the remaining players discuss who they believe is the imposter. To make it easy, players are designated each a different color which is used to be used for players to accuse and explain easily without having to remember or spell out names. However, there have been many new updates.

One of these includes how the chat feature works. Instead of typing out what you want to say during a meeting, there are pre-written options for you to use to talk to everyone. They are also split into sections such as the “Accusations” tab, “Statements,” “Responses,” and more.

Anyone who is accused can plead their case and convince the others that they are not the imposter before the time runs out. Once discussion time is over, everyone gets to either vote for someone they think is an imposter, or skip their voting turn.

The player with the most votes is kicked off the ship but gets to continue the game as a ghost.

To win the game as an imposter, you have to kill everyone in the ship before they finish their tasks while being sneaky. The imposter(s) also have a kill cool-down. This means they have to wait a designated time (ranging from 10 to 60 seconds) before they can kill another crewmate. In order for crewmates to win, they have to either finish all their tasks before all their teammates are killed, or vote all the imposters off the ship.

Although it is a fun app, there are some flaws. Most people want to be an imposter and leave when they don’t get it, which leaves the games shorter and less fun.

There are also issues with cheating such as when friends play together, they tell their friend who the imposter is when one of them gets killed.

This game would most likely interest kids 10-17. It is a fun video game but can be considered violent to younger viewers, or childish to older viewers.

This game is fun and easy to play with friends and family. You’re even able to make new friends while testing your detective skills on the way to triumph!

To purchase, Windows users can go over to the Steam Store, or the company’s official website and purchase the game. You can pay for it with just Rs 199 or $5 (approximately Rs 372), respectively. iOS and android provide the app for free in their mobile app store.

It is worth spending the $5 for Windows users because it allows you to type out your accusations easier and faster.

Although it is hard to type out thorough explanations on a sideways phone keyboard, it is still a fun game to play and meet new friends on.
