Friday Night Funkin’ challenges gamers

Jamie Rosloniec

Friday night funkin is a new Guitar hero and DDR esque beat-keeping game that is sure to keep you entertained for hours upon hours at a time.

The game itself was designed by Cameron Taylor, better known as NinjaMuffin99, who has also made RITZ a platformer game. He is the person responsible for the coding of the game and putting a team together to make the game playable. Taylor has overall made a great experience that doesn’t bug and plays very smoothly.

From main menu music to songs like South, Winter Horrorland, and Roses, every song in the game is amazing to listen to with beats that hit hard and will have you dancing in your seat.

This amazing soundtrack was created by Isacc Garcia known online as kawaisprite, who also made the albums Rainbow, Spanish blood, and Chuckie Finster.

The artists behind Friday Night Funkin’s amazing imagery are David Brown, known as PhantomArcade, and evilsk8r (he is kept anonymous so no real name can be given), they both have created wonderful character designs and amazing backgrounds that really pull you into the game

With cute and creepy character designs, beautifully put-together backgrounds, difficult challenges, and a brilliant soundtrack, I would say that this is one of the best games I’ve played this year.

Although I do have some criticisms. If you press the keys even one second before it reaches the arrow, it counts against you A LOT. Also, on some of the slower songs, it’s difficult not to press it before it’s time.

Another thing that I’m not that big a fan of is that the weeks (levels) go up and down in difficulty. For example, Mommy Must Murder (week 4) is much more difficult than Hating Simulator (week 6 – the final week so far).

However, overall, I feel that this is a game you should invest time in, with the most recent update having come out February 2nd, 2020, and the next one on April 9th, the game is getting added to more and more every day with new characters, songs, and modded content.

If you’d like to check it out it is free online or on mobile app stores under Friday Night Funkin’.
