On Wednesday, Andrew Cuomo signed the bill for recreational weed use by adults over 21, and the Senate approved. The bill expunges previous marijuana convictions for the actions that are now legal. The bill ends prison sentences that were too harsh, embraces the industry that could grow the state’s economy, and will prioritize the communities of those who’ve suffered the most. Licenses for producers and distributors have been created by the bill. Marijuana justice will be provided by ensuring investment into those who have suffered at the hand of mass incarceration will be provided by the bill.
